Update 3.21 – Release Notes

Release 3.21: The Summer Update

Get ready to discover new dinosaurs, features and more!

What’s New?

Releasing at the end of July, Destination Events will be a new, time-limited gameplay experience designed to offer highly curated adventures within Jurassic World Alive. Accessed via the Travel Hub, these events transport players to distinct environments tailored to specific themes or narratives!

Key Features for Destination Event:

  • Map Environments: Each Destination Event takes place in a new environment. Every dinosaur spawn, supply drop, and Strike Tower is hand-placed to ensure players encounter an intentional gameplay loop.
  • Exclusive Content & Collections: These events are the primary pathway to obtaining exclusive dinosaur DNA, new creature lineages, and limited-time collectibles.
  • Challenges: Players can expect a range of specialized encounters designed specifically for the event’s theme, including:
    • Event-Specific Strike Towers
    • Challenge Drones
  • Special Event Tab: As these events are accessed via the Travel Hub, all content is fully playable from entering the Special Event tab and will have a set entry cost per event.

REBIRTH QUETZALCOATLUS – LEGENDARY

Emerging from its nest inside the cliffs of Ile Saint-Hubert is the Rebirth Quetzalcoatlus. Armed with a powerful beak, this aerial giant is agile in combat. It can even carry off your opponent’s dinosaur back to their bench before returning safely to yours!

What’s Updated?

While there are no dinosaur updates for 3.21, we are actively looking at buffs for various Uniques and Apexes. We are also aiming to deliver a bigger set of changes for lower rarities, as those have been missing some love for a while.

Stay tuned for these future changes!

What’s Fixed?

Some pesky bugs have been squashed for 3.21! Here are a few of the most notable fixes that you are likely to enjoy:

Bug Fixes:

  • The Alliance Championship reward button should now only appear in a Collect state when the player is eligible to receive rewards
  • Various improvements to reduce visual glitches on older devices
  • A dinosaur saved by Cheat Death shouldn’t see it’s HP goes down to 0 instead of 1

Known Issues:

  • When scrolling through the list of eligible creatures in the Team Select screen, the last row of dinos is sometimes cut off.
  • The green notification dot might still be displayed after collecting the DNA from a Donation in the Alliance hub.
  • A red notification dot might be displayed on the Achievements menu button even though no achievements were unlocked.
  • The game might freeze at times, e.g. when collecting an incubator or when the daily reward screen opens.
  • When tracking the Dimetrodon on the world, the game might wrongly indicate its presence in a specific area.
  • In Isla Event, during the Refrenantem Boss fight, the first round does not start after the player selects all abilities; the player has to wait for the timer to reach 0.
  • At times, no creatures spawn on the map after the game has launched.
  • Low end devices can experience freeze and performance issues.
  • Care actions might not count towards Alliance missions.
  • Player’s Alliance Points show as Not Qualified after a tournament ended.
  • Two creatures can be seen overlapping each other in battles.
  • Creature Markers do not persist when switching between menus or after relaunching the game.
  • Some players might only receive the participation reward despite being ranked in a tournament.
  • Players can sometimes be set in the same continent/city after an auto/free rotation in the Travel Hub.
  • Players using Travel Hub can sometimes receive a message saying a dinosaur is too far to start a droning session.
  • Returning from the Travel Hub after darting a creature turns the Creature Tracker off.
  • Creature names are missing from the Creature Restriction Tooltip.

A note on data collecting:

We’d like to take a moment and thank everyone who has been participating in our numerous surveys and providing us with constructive feedback on our forums and social channels. We believe in player feedback and although changes rarely occur immediately, the very tangible data we collect, especially from our surveys, help guide us on our roadmaps and future optimizations.
